A lot of people are stressed these days. It seems that in the US and in the world, people are more divided than ever. Governments, legislators within governments, and even people within faith groups and families are trading accusations and insults rather than working through differences in a respectful and civilized manner. It seems the human capacity for civility, respect, and compassion are diminishing daily. This environment of incivility and lack of regard for the well-being of others is stressful for everyone, myself included. And when we are stressed, our capacity for compassionate communication and understanding are reduced as well.
I’m Dave Miller, Director of Sacred Breeze Ministries, and The method I use to release stress is a form of Tantric self emptying meditation. In my meditation practice, I intentionally cleanse chakra energy centers associated with the mind, the heart, the core, and the root. By releasing judgement and confusion, attachments and resentments, fears, and obsession energies, I create a space for clarity, love, faith and serenity, and joyful enthusiasm.
I’ve been using this practice for over a decade now, and I can say it has helped me immensely. I’ve also taught these techniques as a Mental Health Counselor, a Spiritual Director and a lay pastor to church groups, and to people struggling with mental health and addiction issues.
The techniques I teach and use are available in my latest publication: Liberation, Love, and Creative Awakening: A Holistic Journey. Along with Self emptying techniques, I also include meditation techniques for reducing physical and emotional pain, increasing compassion for self and others, and engaging in Spiritual Communion.
In addition to guided meditations, the text explores the structure of consciousness, Spirituality, relationships, and how these aspects of being human harmonize with our physical neurobiology.
The text is engaging and informative, and it helps provide an understanding of how and why we as human beings behave and interact with others the way we do. Each chapter includes exercises, guided meditations, and narrative examples that help illustrate how the included lessons apply to everyday life. Many of the included narratives are true stories from my own experience.
The book is available in paperback and ebook form at Amazon.com, and through your local bookstores. In Sautee, Georgia, Liberation, Love, and Creative Awakening is available through Mount Yonah Book Exchange on Helen Highway. If your local bookstore doesn’t carry this book, ask them to order it through Ingram Sparks.
Whether you buy the book or not, it is important to take care of yourself during stressful times. Meditation, peaceful walks, and enjoying time with friends and family you can trust are all part of self-care. Engaging in physical activities like walking, Tai Chi, Yoga, and working out can help as well. For me, being part of an inclusive, love centered faith community is important as well.
Beloved friends, take care of yourselves, and take care of each other. And remember there’s an upside to the reality that nothing is permanent. Difficult and stressful times pass eventually. The sun will again shine through these dark times. Until then, Be Well and keep caring. Our hope is in unconditional inclusive love that connects us all. Thank you.
